Love. Acceptance. Jesus Christ.
Bethel: House of God: Being in God’s house, in his presence, reminds us that we are part of God’s family. Home, in the best sense of the word, is the place where we belong; a place of complete rest. In Jesus Christ we belong as part of God’s family and are promised eternal rest with him. In all our ministries and functions as a church, we are striving to communicate this sense of belonging and rest.
Love. As God’s people at Bethel, we are striving to know God’s love better and also to show God’s love more through our lives. All of our ministries, functions and worship services are designed to remind us of the love of Jesus Christ and to communicate that this is a community where the love of God can be found, known and experienced.
Acceptance. True acceptance is defined by God and shown perfectly in Jesus. Our goal is to reflect the acceptance we continue to find in Jesus and so be a community in which anyone seeking Christ would feel that they belong for who they are, even as they are being transformed into who they will be.
Jesus Christ. Everything we do as a church community will point toward Jesus Christ as the source of our salvation, and toward a desire to grow in our relationship with him. We are not ashamed of Jesus’ name, but rather are intentional about proclaiming the name of Jesus Christ to one another and the community around us. We do this because we know what Jesus has done and is doing for us, and because we long that more of the world would know this joy too.
